Still Life with Coffee

Day 15 of 90. Daily Art. 

I love doing still life, I cut my teeth on still life using oils.  Values, Shapes, Edges, Compositions, Alla Prima, the main concepts and techniques.  When I jumped into watercolor I wondered how I would do still life, there aren't a lot of instructors who teach alla prima, still life using watercolor.  I'm more comfortable doing pen and ink, and wash instead of a 'real' still life painting with watercolor alone. But I love it, and when you can't get outside to paint, setting up a composition in the studio is the next best thing. Sometimes better. So here's to practice.
