2022 Thirty Day Painting Challenge

 

Happy New Year!

I started the new year and my daily painting challenge at La Jolla Shores.   On the beach,  adjacent to this park, is where the Polar Bear Plunge was about to begin.  This tradition has been going on for some forty years now and draws about 200-250 crazy people. The water temperature is about 55 degrees, farenheit. Hence 'crazy'. 

I took this photo right before the swimmers ran into the ocean.  Don't be fooled by the sunshine, it's not yet 10 am, not warm out, and they will soon be wet.  With that said, it was a good time for the 'Polar Bears' and spectators alike.
