Olive Groves, Villas and Towers
In my recent painting trip to Italy, I stayed in Lucca for the first part of my trip. Lucca is a little more than an hour's ride from Florence and less than an hour from the Mediterranean. Lucca is known for it's olive oil, every land owner has an olive grove or so it seems. And so, we painted in a olive grove, over looking the valley with a church and a tower. 23 Towers are scattered all over the hills and in the town. I painted this tower several times from different locations, literally morning noon and night - this is my favorite.
