Riff on a Classic

I've been watching a series on youtube called "Modern Masters",  there were four episodes covering Picasso, Matisse, Dali and Degas.  (I'm sorry they didn't include any women painters such as Mary Cassatt or Georgia O'Keefe but alas...)

In watching the episode on Matisse, I was introduced to L'Escargot or the Snail.  So here are two of my interpretations of the Snail.
