The California Tower
This is the California Tower, or almost all of it, in Balboa Park with the Old Globe peaking out from behind it. It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon in the park - this was the 2nd of two paintings. I am learning to pack lighter when painting in plein air. After taking a workshop from Lori Putman in Carmel, I started using lighter canvas panels and loading up my palette with enough paint, and leaving the tubes behind (I do bring my tube of white). I had to replace my umbrella, the last one broke and the new one is probably a lb heavier but has a longer reach and can adjust 360 degrees. Now if I could just reduce the number of brushes I pack!
